Co-op in DR 2?

Like Gears Of War, and Resident Evil 5, Dead Rising 2 will have co-op in single player. According to Game Informer (magazine not yet released), another person can join Chuck Greene in eradicating the zombie hordes. How will the 2nd player character look like? Is this even for real?
